Wallet Password Recovery in the Netherlands
Professional recovery of forgotten wallet passwords and passphrases. Non-custodial, written agreement, no recovery, no fee.
Quick answers
Can a forgotten wallet password be recovered?
Yes, when usable encrypted wallet material still exists. Remembered fragments or patterns can make a search more focused, and the free assessment determines whether the complete case is realistic.
Do I have to send my wallet file or password?
No. The free assessment starts from a description - the wallet software, the file or device, and what you remember. If a case proceeds, work runs on a copy of the file in an offline environment under a written agreement; we never ask for passwords through forms or chat.
What if I only remember part of the password?
Partial memory can make a search more focused. Fragments, patterns, years, names and keyboard layout define the candidate list; the more you remember, the smaller the search space. "I do not remember it exactly" is not the same as "I remember nothing".
This service covers every situation where the encrypted wallet file, backup or device still exists and the password does not.
How it works
We test password candidates against a copy of the encrypted file - never the original. The search uses everything you remember: fragments, patterns, years, keyboard layout, habits from that era. The wallet format decides the encryption and therefore how realistic a search is.
- You remember most of the password or its pattern, and the encrypted file or device still exists: a bounded search is often realistic.
- You remember fragments: the search grows with every unknown character but stays bounded.
What you need to provide
The wallet file, backup or device (a description is enough to start), and everything you remember about the password. For the free assessment, no sensitive material is needed at all.
Security
Work happens offline on copies, under a written agreement under Dutch law, with an NDA on request. We never take custody of your funds, and we never ask you to send a password through forms or chat.
English service in the Netherlands
Cryptoherstel handles English-language cases for people and professionals in the Netherlands. The assessment and case can be handled remotely or through our Amsterdam office, with the scope agreed in writing under Dutch law before work begins. Start with a general description only; do not send wallet secrets through email, forms or chat.
Frequently asked questions
Can you recover a hardware wallet passphrase?
Hardware wallets are recovered with the recovery phrase; a forgotten BIP-39 passphrase can open a different wallet. If you retain the recovery phrase but not the BIP-39 passphrase, the passphrase cannot be derived or reset from the phrase. Remembered details can make a search more focused; the free assessment determines whether the complete case is realistic.
What if the wallet file or device is gone?
Without the encrypted file, backup or device there is no wallet data against which to test password candidates.
